Plan One Instant Across Multiple Local Clocks

A useful meeting planner must compare absolute instants, not fixed hour differences. IANA time zones apply historical and future daylight-saving rules, so New York and London can differ by four or five hours depending on the date. This planner resolves a wall time in the first participant's zone, detects skipped or repeated DST times, converts the selected instant for every participant, and ranks slots that remain inside each person's stated working hours.

How to Find a Fair International Meeting Time

Frequently asked questions

Why can the same local time occur twice?

When daylight saving time ends, clocks move backward and repeat part of the morning. The two matching wall times represent different UTC instants and offsets, so the planner asks you to select the intended occurrence.

Why can a local time be nonexistent?

When daylight saving time starts, clocks jump forward and skip a range of wall times. A time inside that gap cannot identify a real instant; select a time before or after the transition.

How are the best overlap suggestions ranked?

A candidate must fit completely inside every stated working window. The planner first minimizes the largest distance from any participant's workday midpoint, then uses total distance and earlier time as tie-breakers.

What data leaves the browser?

Time-zone calculations and .ics generation are local. If you click Open Google Calendar, the browser navigates to Google with the event title and UTC start and end times in the URL.
